Maintenance Technician, Full-time

**THE PURPOSE**:Working under responsibility of the Maintenance Manager, this position’s primary duty is to ensure the hotel property is maintained in an attractive, clean and safe manner

**THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum five years building maintenance experience minimum, including but not limited to proven competence in drywall installation and repair, painting, plumbing and basic electrical
- conversant with all general hand and power tools, as well meters and gauges
- move, lift, push and place objects weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance, or heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance
- can do, resourceful approach to work - keen, continuous learner
- strong time management skills, ability to work as a team as well as independently efficiently and effectively

**THE ROLE AND RESPONSBILITIY**
- Performs routine preventative maintenance on all air handling units, etc. ie. filter changes, lubrication, belt changes, etc.
- Maintains hotel grounds in a clean and orderly manner
- Performs drywall installation, repair and painting
- Maintains the building exterior (including snow removal): Painting, replacement of light bulbs
- Performs and all aspects of equipment repair and preventative maintenance, including some plumbing and basic electrical
- Continually updates him/herself awareness of recent technological advances that may be implemented, to improve hotel operational efficiency
- Maintains and monitors the hotel security system, door lock system and television equipment
- Maintains a system of pest control throughout and in the immediate surrounding vicinity of the hotel
- Ensure that engineering areas are clean and properly maintained
- Is properly groomed and attired, including proper and complete uniform
- Actively contributes to the safety of all guest and the property
- Is fully prepared for fire alarms, bomb threat procedures and other safety requirements including the providing of emergency medical assistance. Is familiar with the location of and how to control the supply of water, electricity and gas in an emergency situation. Is aware of the location of, and how to use, fire extinguishing equipment
- Assists the Maintenance Manager in performing all of his/her duties & responsibilities, including additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager
