**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum grade 12 or equivalent.
- Food Handlers Certificate required.
- Chefs Training, Culinary Management Diploma/Certificate, Certificate for Trade of Cook, or Institutional Cook as per Ministry of Long Term Care Homes Act 2007 Section 76 - Cooks
- 3-5 years' experience in institutional cooking.
- Experience with Public Health Food Safety and Sanitation Codes, HACCP and WHMIS.
- Experience with computer software including Microsoft Office programs
- Knowledge and understanding of online ordering system, receiving, returns and order guide building
- Experience with Food Service equipment such as steam kettles, convection ovens, steamers, mixers, and other food service equipment.
- Experience with therapeutic diets.
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics to meet the physical demands of the job for prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting, pushing and pulling and the ability to perform repetitive motions and lift an average of 20kg
- Ability to withstand extreme temperature fluctuation
- Working knowledge of office equipment such as fax machines, printers, photocopiers, etc
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with mínimal supervision.
- Consistent and regular attendance required.
- Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) will be considered an asset.
- Consistent and regular attendance required.
- Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
