As an Acting Benefit Programs Instructor, you will be responsible for providing theoretical and on-line systems training for Claims Examiners virtually or in the office. You will also be required to assist in reviewing training materials and assist with communication to the teams. In your role, you will act as a senior technical resource and may be called upon by other departments (GCCS, Learning & Development, etc.) for feedback. In times of no training, you may be asked to assist Team Assistants, with our backlog or assist with other projects.

**What you will do**:

- Providing virtual or classroom training on all health and dental benefits and systems to our Claims Examiners
- Engaging in program planning such as training schedules and learning activities
- Providing ongoing support for questions from Team Assistants, Team Performance Leaders, etc
- Conferring with Learning & Development on benefit policy, fraud/abuse situations, interpretation of adjudication manuals and new releases for clarity
- Responsible for program development activities such as maintenance of all training curriculum, creation of written material for new programs, etc
- Supervising the trainees and monitoring their performance, while in training, through review of audits and release of Pend 49’s, oral/written communication, and productivity reports
- Completing evaluation report of trainee’s performance to Team Performance Leader
- Preparing trainees for transition into their working units when training is completed.
- Consulting with Team Performance Leader on individual performance issues identified during training.
- Assist in creating and communicating changes or reminders to Claims Examiners

- Thorough knowledge of Health and Dental claim benefits and related processes/procedures and systems
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (must be comfortable speaking in front of a classroom of trainees, providing clear and concise feedback to trainees and Team Performance Leaders)
- Proven training/coaching skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Strong change management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word
- Be a reliable team player with excellent attendance and behaviours that align with our values and culture.
- The role requires a flexible work schedule in start and end times.
