The Faculty of Health Sciences ((FHS) is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of six Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Communication Sciences and Disorders), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centres. The Faculty has more than 3,200 undergraduate students and more than 800 graduate students (200 PhD students).
The National Centre for Audiology (NCA) is recognized nationally and internationally as a centre of excellence and leadership in Audiology and Hearing Science research. The NCA provides an environment in which researchers from many disciplines work cooperatively to expand knowledge of hearing function and problems, address the needs of people with hearing impairment, and develop behavioural and technological methods to assist persons with hearing loss. Successes include research productivity and technology transfer, and ongoing collaboration with hearing health care providers and industries.

- Education:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Experience:
- Two years’ experience working as a pediatric speech-language pathologist
- One year experience working in research in pediatric speech-language pathology
- Experience with collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing clinical data
- Experience conducting literature reviews and synthesizing findings
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated working knowledge of research principles related to assessment of pediatric speech and language disorders
- Working knowledge of outcome measures and the intervention literature in pediatric speech-language pathology
- Familiarity with regulations and guidelines governing research ethics in an academic environment and with best practices for reviewing and writing grant proposals
- In depth knowledge with methods for research design, implementation, and analysis
- Familiarity with techniques for updating, managing and extracting data from a research database
- Ability to collaborate across internal and external boundaries to meet common objectives, improve outcomes and support work beyond one's own unit
- Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
- Communication skills to describe technical concepts effectively to both novice and sophisticated users, and to complete detailed analytics and reports
- Ability to provide solutions and ideas for improvement by using imaginative approaches where constructive thinking and innovation are required
- Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
- Ability to multi-task and maintain an organized and effective personal work environment
- Ability to work in a fluid and evolving work environment with changing deadlines and priorities
