Toronto, Canada High Volume Restaurant and Bar - King Street West Full time

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Personnel Management

Ø Responsible for all servers, server assistants, and food runner departments
Ø Prepare weekly schedules for departments to adequately cover all shifts. Provide for coverage in case of employee absences and adjust staffing as necessary due to business demands

Ø Ensure breaks are being allocated and accounted
Ø Hire and dismiss all department staff
Ø Train, coach, develop and discipline all front of house employees through the set training program
Ø Create a positive and professional environment where all associates work as a highly functioning team

Operational Execution

Ø Manage all repairs and maintenance schedules for the restaurant
Ø Manage labour due to weather and business needs - make cuts where necessary
Ø Ensure all staff is trained on POS system - Clover and Silverware
Ø Oversee and support events that are held - set up, cocktails, and understand

Banquet Event Order
Ø Ensure cash outs, voids, and comps are prepared accurately and with reason
Ø Recognize signs of mental illness and be able to effectively communicate, deal with, and provide support to your team
Ø Communicate effectively with other department managers when applicable to ensure effective service

Guest Relations Management

Ø Provide exceptional guest service, thereby setting the standard for all employees
Ø Anticipate and manage guest recovery directly and indirectly (through service staff) - proactively and not reactively
Ø Develop long term relationships with your guest through your table checks to ensure guest satisfaction and real time guest recovery
Ø Ensure Guest Satisfaction offerings are reasonable - not offer full dinner service for free
Ø Never comp food if more than 15% is consumed
Ø Keep track record of all guest recovery communication

Ø Monitor staff performance and hold staff accountable for their performance ensuring guest’s experiences meet the highest standards

Shift Execution

Ø Perform opening, mid and closing shift duties
Ø Manage daily operations including cleanliness of dining room, organization, and staffing
Ø Manage department staff, deliver daily briefings, and provide them with feedback
Ø Maintain a high level of employee morale by being a role model to all staff
Ø Ensure all departments missed shifts are input for employees within applicable pay period
Ø Ensure all equipment in the dining room is maintained and safe for staff and guests
Ø Ensure all employees in the venue are in uniform respect to their department
Ø Ensure all Push clock approvals are completed daily and accurately
Ø Complete shortages daily with accuracy and drop into the drop safe for Inventory

Manager
Ø Ensure staff and guests are adhering to COVID-19 guidelines

position requirements

**Requirements**:
Education & Experience

Ø 3+ years’ experience as the Restaurant Manager of a high-volume restaurant required

Ø Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business/Hospitality Management and/or equivalent an asset

Ø Smart Serve Certification required
Ø First Aid and WHMIS training is an asset

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

Ø Demonstrated knowledge of operational management
Ø Comfortable working in a high-stress environment
Ø Exceptional guest service orientation
Ø Must possess strong leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to build relationships and manage staff at all levels
Ø Must possess a strong attention to detail
Ø Capable to effectively communicate with all levels of management
Ø Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks with an appropriate sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
Ø Ability to motivate and manage staff and work effectively in a management team
Ø Exceptional interpersonal skills
Ø Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand on feet for long periods of time
Ø Available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Working Hours Required

Ø Minimum 60 hours a week

Salary Range

Ø $70,000-$80,000
