**Job Description**:
What you'll be doing

The Trade Control group provides support to CIBC’s businesses through effective governance and control processes for all derivative products. Individuals are required to monitor and verify trade flows through various source systems in a timely and precise manner in order to ensure accuracy for downstream stakeholders.

How you'll succeed- Verify all trade details against blotters, broker confirms, external trading platforms, trade tickets and traders files, in accordance with accepted daily control procedures designed to detect errors and omissions in trade capture.- Running daily reports associated with the Trade Control group as part of the groups control processes.- Reconcile trades between internal and external systems.- Must maintain a high level of knowledge of Capital Markets business products while partnering with peers to deliver timely results for numerous stakeholders.- Work within a challenging, fast paced environment where time pressures demand a rapid response to requests from the trading floor.- Focused attention to detail when reviewing trade information in booking systems.- Work in a dynamic team environment where sharing of skills and knowledge is critical.- Organized approach to record keeping of daily controls for audit purposes.- Frequent contact with front office with regards to booking discrepancies or queries.- Frequent contact with CIBC back office and investigation officers to resolve booking or parameter discrepancies regarding rates, cash payments, and other derivative details.- Frequent contact with CIBC middle office analysts to confirm details of trade bookings and amendments

Who you are- Undergraduate university degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Commerce, Accounting, and/or 1-3 years of related experience.- Knowledge of derivatives and fixed income products - operational and settlement practices of bonds, swaps, options, futures, and foreign exchange- Intermediate Excel knowledge, specifically for reconciling datasets from different sources.- Strong understanding of the division of major departments in a bank and the flow of information.- Ability to accurately respond to queries regarding trade details and discrepancies in a timely manner.- Strong communication skills required when dealing with the back office, investigations officers, traders, marketers and middle office with regards to trade bookings and amendments.- Solid problem solving, analytical thinking and ability to use initiative while responding to non-routine queries.- Effective interpersonal skills, including good teamwork and relationship building.- Confident and thorough, using good judgment, decision making and attention to detail.- Compliance with all CIBC regulatory training while ensuring these programs and policies are applied consistently across the business. The incumbent is personally responsible for compliance with all such regulatory and governance programs.- Any of MarkitWire, Bloomberg terminal, Wall Street Systems, or Harmony experience is a plus
