Surrey, Canada Traditional Learning Academy Online Full time

Traditional Learning Academy is currently recruiting Educational Assistants: Our mission is to partner with parents and students to support quality learning opportunities at home. This is an excellent opportunity where you will work one-on-one or in small classroom groups with our students. Our students currently receive EA support in person and online. TLA is a community of Christian Educators, however, our students come from a diverse background and no statement of faith is required for our EA positions.

As an Educational Assistant you will be part of a talented multidisciplinary team working with children, families and school teams. We have hundreds of students all over the province, each one working on individualized programs in a variety of learning environments..

This position is for support September
- June and the hourly wage is dependent upon qualifications and experience.

**Qualifications**:
A certificate from a recognized post-secondary college such as a Special Education Teaching Assistant or equivalent post-secondary studies

Strong written and oral English communication skills.

Must be computer literate and knowledgeable about gmail, google drive and proficient in video conferencing tools.

A valid Ministry of Justice criminal record check is required as part of the hiring process.

Background in supporting students with Disabilities and Diverse learning needs is preferred, but we have additional training available if needed.

Applicants must be dedicated to inclusive education and committed to learning new skills in a team-based environment.

**We are currently hiring EAs for the following positions**:
**1) Home-based 1-to-1 EAs in the following regions**:
Langley/Aldergrove.

Port Moody, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Maple Ridge.

Burnaby, Richmond, Vancouver

Vancouver Island

Prince George (and surrounding areas)

Home-Based EAs join our team as contractors working on per-student contracts. Our EAs set their own hours and schedules and join a team of parents/caregivers, teachers and other therapeutic supports. TLA teachers will be available to create the program goals, and families/caregivers will be on-site to offer guidance and support.

2) Classroom
- Based EAs

Tuesday/Thursday (8:45- 3:15) Grade 4/ 5 Class (Cloverdale, BC)

Tuesday/Thursday (8:45- 3:15) Grade 6/7 Class. (Cloverdale, BC)

Friday (8:45-3:15) Grades 4-7 class (Cloverdale, BC)

Wednesday (8:45- 3:15) Grade K-3 Class (Vancouver, BC)

Wednesday (8:45- 3:15) Grade 4-7 Class (Vancouver BC)

Classroom-based EAs work with small groups within the classrooms under the direct supervision of a TLA teacher. All supports are in-class, and range from academic support and behavioural prompting to social and executive functioning support. Students will be engaged in project-based learning in our inclusive mult-grade classrooms.
