**Finance Officer**

Reporting to the Manager of Finance, the Finance Officer is responsible for supporting the efficient and effective use of the Board’s financial resources and alignment with strategic goals.

This permanent, full-time position works twelve (12) months per year and 37.5 hours per week from the Catholic Education Centre in Dublin, Ontario.

**Key Responsibilities may include**:

- Assisting in the completion of the Board’s financial reporting requirements including the preparation of annual financial statements, budgets, and other reports, in compliance with Public Sector Accounting Standards and applicable Ministry Guidelines
- Internal report preparation and analysis for financial decision making and budgeting
- Supporting schools with school generated funds (SGF), KEV School Cash & School Cash online; performing school SGF audits
- Accounting tasks such as monthly bank and balance sheet account reconciliations, charity & HST returns, processing vendor EFT payments & employee expense claims
- Assisting internal and external auditors
- Reviewing, posting and tracking payroll expenses & remittances
- Accounting and reporting for tangible capital assets, asset retirement obligations and amortization
- Facilitating procurement; engaging with vendors, executing competitive procurement and contract management in accordance with the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive
- Effectively utilizing finance software including Microsoft Navision, School Cash, Questica, eBase, iSYS, Baragar; implementing upgrades as needed
- Working collaboratively as a member of the Finance team to meet departmental and organizational objectives
- Other duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A University Degree, or equivalent, in the field of Business (Accounting, Business Administration);
- Professional Accounting Designation (CPA), or working towards;
- Minimum 5 years experience in finance and/or accounting, preferably in a School Board or Public Sector;
- Proven communication skills, written and oral, in a professional setting;
- Demonstated initiative and motivation to enhance skills and knowledge;
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the capacity to ork independently, problem-solve and multi-task in a busy environment; and
- Knowledge of Public Sector Accounting (PSAB) accounting standards, Canadian Generally AcceptedAccounting Principles (GAAP), and Broader Public Sector Procurement (BPS) Directive considered an asset.

**Salary**: $64,871.00-$81,105.00 per year
