Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Production Lead is responsible for maintaining communication flow between management and the production floor. The Production Lead is also responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of work in the department they are assigned, providing feedback to the Production Supervisor and providing training and assistance to employees. This will be a hands-on working position.
- Ensures equipment is operated and maintained by coordinating with maintenance requiring equipment repairs and reporting any machinery malfunctions or breakdowns to immediate supervisor and maintenance
- Ensures team members are aware of and understand Company policies, procedures and targets that are applicable to their positions
- Balances work cells for labour and work distribution and keeps team members informed of any change in the manufacturing process
- Supervises line employees by training, coaching and mentoring; addresses performance issues, prepares and conducts performance reviews
- Uses approved production schedule to plan sequences of operation, expedited operations and to effectively handle any unforeseen/special services in which could alter said schedule
- Distributes supplies and material to production area to meet production requirements
- Responsible for employee health and safety, meeting production objectives, production efficiencies and looking for continuous improvements
- Participates in daily production meetings
- Prepares various reports i.e. NCR, quality reports etc.
- Schedules overtime requirements when approved by Production Supervisor and Plant Manager
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Maintains respectful communication with co-workers and supervisory staff
- Familiar with the Company’s ISO Quality policies/processes and understands the impact of this position on the competitiveness and performance of the company
- Trained in the requirements of NIJ Standard-0101.06 Ballistic Resistance of Body Armor and to facilitate conformity to the NIJ body Armor Compliance Testing Program specificationsComplies with and follows Health & Safety policies and programs
- High school diploma is required
- 3 to 4 years of related work experience and knowledge preferably from a cut and sew manufacturing environment
- Minimum 1 year supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

**Skills**:

- Good communication skills both orally and written
- Good mathematical skills
- \Excellent people and reasoning skills
- Good computer skills; MS Office software - MS Word, Excel, internet
