Cloudhead Games is the veteran VR studio behind the multi-award winning titles, Pistol Whip, an action-rhythm shooter (GOTY, DICE Awards) and the fantasy adventure series, The Gallery (GOTY, VR Awards.) Cloudhead has partnered multiple times with industry legend Valve to create tech demos, with the most notable being Aperture Hand Lab, a humorous Valve Index controller demo set in the Portal Universe. Always innovating, Cloudhead is also known for its early solutions in VR locomotion/comfort with snap turns and teleportation, as well as VR motion capture and hand interactions.

As a **Technical** **Animator** at Cloudhead Games, you will collaborate closely with the game team to bring our game concepts to life. Bridging the gap between artistic vision and technical execution, you will create and implement animations that are both captivating and optimized for performance

**What you would do**:

- Work closely with the art and game team to bring game concepts to life through animation systems, tools and pipelines
- Create and maintain high-quality assets for the animation pipeline and support the implementation in Unity
- Optimize animations for performance and Iterate on creations based on feedback from the team and playtests
- Collaborate with the team to identify and resolves issues related to animation integrations, performance and tool functionality
- Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and techniques, and proactively recommend improvements to workflows and pipelines

**What you will bring**:

- Experience creating animation and rigging workflows within a game development team
- Knowledge of Unity’s animation pipeline
- Proficiency in animation software such as Maya, Blender
- Solid understanding of animation pipelines and character rigging
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a remote work environment

**Nice to have**:

- VR experience
- Character modeling and design experience
- Comfortable setting up dynamic elements in Unity (springs, hinges, or IK)
- Experience with procedural animation systems

**Compensation**

The salary range for this position is CAD $90k-$130k.
