**THE OPPORTUNITY**
- Ensure that engineering systems (water, compressed air, steam, ammonia (NH3) refrigeration and HVAC and Supply Systems) are operated in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with applicable Acts, Codes, Regulations and Standards.
- Perform inspections and assist in the daily activities of the refrigeration team to ensure all preventative maintenance and repairs of equipment and systems are being implemented properly and are up-to-date.
- Assign or complete scheduled equipment and building systems checks including refrigeration and steam equipment as per the manufacturer’s specs, TSSA and Piller's requirements.
- Complete machine lubrication and PM activity as required.
- Provide direction, guidance, and technical problem-solving. Analyze shift reports and make recommendations on improvements.
- Assist in the procurement of vendor/contract prices for various projects, parts, equipment, and tools.
- Manage the maintenance of the logbook on daily activities/events.
- Work closely with the Utilities Lead Hand and assist with mechanical repairs
- Assign or complete water treatment checks and adjustments on all water system.
- Review and sign-off on Piller's check sheets, record of inspection, and contactor service report. Follow up on any corrective action noted with a Work Order.
- Follow good maintenance practices, to assign and complete all work orders in a reasonable time frame.
- Follow purchasing procedures in place including submitting requisitions for approval.
- Responsible for housekeeping and maintaining a clean work area.
- Report any food safety issues to QA immediately.
- Work in a safe manner in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act by reporting all hazards, accidents, incidents or near misses to the Supervisor.
- Follow all prescribed SOP's, HACCP and GMP procedures.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

**THE REQUIREMENTS**
- Must have a valid Class "A" Refrigeration Operator certification
- Minimum 3 years experience in refrigeration operations
- Secondary trade ticket considered an asset
- Previous experience and knowledge of steam systems and waste water treatment
- Read, write, and communicate (English)
- Must be knowledgeable in the use of the Mechanical Refrigeration Code.
- Mechanical aptitude with a good knowledge of standard tools, materials, methods, and trade practices.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to work weekends when required.
