The Urinalysis Collector is responsible for the collection of samples from federally released female offenders in a manner that is compliant with the procedures of Correctional Service Canada, while upholding Salvation Army values of dignity and respect.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Collection of urine samples from federally released female offenders in accordance with the contractual requirements of Correctional Service of Canada.
- To adhere to universal precautions in sample collection, adhering to guidelines for collection procedures.
- To adhere to an on-demand collection schedule upon 24-hour notice; paperwork and dispatching of samples to an approved laboratory in accordance with testing requirements.

**Written and Verbal Communication**
- To complete all paperwork and adhere to submission deadlines.
- To communicate with the CSC, Develop and document business requirements, process and reports as needed.
- Develop and document options and recommendations to issues and problems.
- Support key stakeholders in understanding the implications of options and decisions.

**Reporting**:

- Create and maintain a list of reports required for health and safety compliance purposes.
- Support external reporting requests as needed.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Office in a community correction setting.
- Client homes or workplaces for the purposes of collection.
- Position requires 80% travel.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:

- Diploma in social services or related field of study.
- Valid Standard First Aid Certificate with CPR.
- Non-violent crisis intervention training.
- Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.

**EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE**:

- Minimum of 3 years of prior related experience in community corrections.
- Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License and a current copy of a Driver’s abstract for review and verification that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required.

**SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES**:

- Case management experience in a correctional setting.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong de-escalation and communication skills.
- Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics.
- Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check with vulnerable sector screening.
- Eligible for enhanced reliability screening
- Ability and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
