The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy is mandated with the responsibility of encouraging a sustainable environment, curbing environmental degradation and ensuring that environmental management meets the changing needs and priorities of the many users of British Columbia’s resources.

Under the direction of the Air Audit Coordinator, the Air Audit Technician conducts regular audits of all air quality monitoring equipment that is operated as part of the Provincial Air Quality Monitoring Network (the ‘Network’). The network, which includes equipment operated by the Ministry, by industry when required by permit, and by agreement with other operators, ensures that reliable air quality data for the Province of British Columbia is collected and reported. This position also provides expertise to the ministry’s air audit program including the development and implementation of air audit methods and procedures and coordinating delivery of the field program with the Air Audit Coordinator, regional staff, permit holders and other operators.

**Job Requirements**:

- A degree in electronics, instrumentation, environmental sciences, or related field, and two (2) years of directly related air quality monitoring experience; or
- A technical diploma in electronics, instrumentation, environmental sciences, or related field, and four (4) years of directly relevant experience in air quality monitoring; or An equivalent combination of education, experience and training.Related Experience:

- Experience working with air quality monitoring equipment, including operating, servicing, troubleshooting and conducting verifications of instrument operation.
- Experience developing procedures and methodology for verifying the operation of air quality monitoring instruments.
- Experience in the operation of complex programs and projects.
- Experience following program and project objectives and priorities. Experience conducting site inspections.Willingness Statement:

- Valid BC driver’s license.
- Must be able to meet the transportation needs of the position, i.e. maintain a BC Class 5 Drivers License
- Willingness to maintain required safety certifications
- Willingness to travel including flights and driving long distances
- Willingness to work in industrial environments, including climbing stacks
- Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays, when required Must be physically able to conduct field work**About this Position**:
