Casual Receptionist

Sunset Manor in Innisfail is looking for a casual Receptionist.

As the first contact for our Residents, their families & visitors, you are friendly and patient with empathy for the elderly and their challenges. You must be able to work independently and have excellent written and oral communication skills

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Answer the telephone in a courteous and professional manner. (e.g. “Good evening, Sunset Manor) **Smile** while answering the telephone, it will reflect in your voice...
- Provide initial face-to-face and telephone contact with visitors. Provide direction to visitors and callers and notify appropriate people as required.
- Acknowledge visitors upon arrival. Advise visitors of the facility's sign-in and sign-out procedure and to sanitize their hands.
- Remind residents to sign in and out.
- Maintain records as required. (e.g. telephone logs, residence logs, miscellaneous typing)
- Handle meal money from family members.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail if required.
- Prepare outgoing mail if required.
- Ensure photocopy machine is topped up with paper before end of shift.
- Check supply room to ensure cupboards and drawers are neat and tidy.
- Observe comings and goings of residents from facility.
- At end of shift, lock supply room. Phone in charge LPN on duty to advise her/him you are leaving for the day. Inform her/him which resident(s) are still signed out and to advise her/him of any visitors still in the building.

**Dress Requirements**:

- All employees of Sunset/Country Manor are expected to present themselves in a clean, neat and professional manner during scheduled hours of work.
- No flip flops, blue jeans or t-shirts with slogans are to be worn by employees during working hours.
- If an employee chooses to wear a skirt they are required to ensure they are no shorter than knee length.
- Jewellery worn by employees must be kept to a minimum.
- Tattoos need to be covered.
