Makivvik's Construction Division (a non-profit organization) is responsible for implementing the Inuit Housing Construction Program in Nunavik. Its main objective is to build quality housing while maximizing employment opportunities for Nunavik Inuit, providing training and promoting Nunavik's local economy as much as possible.

La Division de la construction de Makivvik (organisation sans but lucratif) est chargée de mettre en œuvre le Programme de construction de logements inuit au Nunavik. Son principal objectif est de construire des logements de qualité tout en maximisant les possibilités d’emploi pour les Inuits du Nunavik, en offrant de la formation et en favorisant le plus possible l’économie locale du Nunavik.

**_ RESPONSIBILITIES:_**
- As a Project Manager, plans and manages the execution of Inuit housing construction projects in Nunavik (North of the 55th parallel); in collaboration with foremen, subcontractors, inspectors, suppliers, expert-advisors, regulatory bodies and representatives of the communities;
- Establish the inventory, together with the foreman and the supply section, and supervise the purchase, the transport and the storage of equipment, tools and construction material;
- Ensure the administrative and financial management of the projects together with the resources of the Division;
- Assist the foremen in the execution of the following tasks:

- In collaboration with the Human Resources Section, recruit the necessary employees (carpenters, operators, chefs and camp aides);
- manage on-site construction workers;
- prioritize the recruiting of local labor force and resources;
- provide technical information pertaining to the interpretation of plans, of technical details and of specifications;
- Proceed with regular visits of the construction sites;
- Identify issues and, according to the available options and resources, implement solutions;

**_ RESPONSABILITÉS_**_:_**
- À titre de chargé de projet; planifier et gérer l’exécution de projets de construction de logement Inuit au Nunavik (nord du 55e parallèle) ; en collaboration avec les contremaîtres, les sous-traitants, les inspecteurs, les fournisseurs, les expertsconseils, les organismes de réglementation et les représentants des communautés;
- Établir, avec les contremaîtres et la section d’approvisionnement, l’inventaire et superviser l’achat, le transport et l’entreposage des équipements, outils et matériaux de construction;
- Assurer, avec les ressources de la Division, la gestion administrative et financières des projets;
- Assister les contremaîtres dans l’exécution des tâches suivantes:

- en collaboration avec la section des Ressources Humaines, recruter les employés nécessaires (menuisiers, opérateurs, cuisiniers, aide-de-camps) ;
- gérer le personnel de chantier;
- prioriser l’embauche de main-d’œuvre et ressources locales;
- fournir de l’information technique concernant l’interprétation des plans, des détails techniques et des devis;
- Effectuer des visites régulières sur les chantiers;
- Identifier les problèmes, et selon les options et ressources disponibles, mettre en place les solutions;

**_ QUALIFICATIONS_**_:_**
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, in building engineering or civil engineering;
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years in project management;
- Experience in remote region an asset;
- A good understanding of the Inuit culture and traditions is an asset;
- Be available to travel to Nunavik on a frequent basis (25% of the times from June until December).

**_ QUALIFICATIONS ET COMPÉTENCE REQUISE_**
- Baccalauréat en architecture, en génie du bâtiment ou civil;
- Expérience : 3 ans minimum en gestion de projets;
- Expérience en région un atout;
- La compréhension de la culture et des traditions inuit est un atout;
- Être disponible pour voyage au Nunavik fréquent (25% du temps de juin à décembre).
