**Accounting Manager**

**The Opportunity**

SunMETA Group is currently seeking to fill the permanent role of a Accounting Manager in Calgary, Alberta.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Sole responsibility for preparing monthly and annual financial statements for associated companies, and their related yearend reconciliations and working papers.
- Supporting the leadership of a team of accountants and admin staff.
- Assist with the annual financial statements and other reporting for Sundance College.
- Develop and maintain monthly variance and KPI reports.
- Analyze, flowchart and streamline workflow processes for several departments.
- Play a key role in implementing 2 major information systems over the coming year.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies & suppliers to respond to inquiries and correspondence.
- Troubleshoot and research accounting problems for resolution.
- Active collaboration with staff across the organization to get tasks and projects completed.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Nearly or newly designated CPA
- Knowledge of ASPE
- Solid foundation in both financial & managerial accounting
- Knowledge of KPIs, variance analysis
- Process flowcharting experience would be helpful
- Proven ability to collaborate well with accounting team members, as well as be effective when working independently.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proven self motivation, initiative, and drive to achieve results.
- Ability to contribute to a positive, supportive workplace culture.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and company information.
- Expert level Microsoft Excel
