About your team

Fidelity’s Wealth Management & Retirement Services offers regulated advice and guidance to customers who are looking to convert their pension pots into a retirement income, take investment advice on their ISA or Investment Accounts, or make use of lump sums as part of their retirement planning. We also provide regulated advice on lifetime allowance issues, pension consolidation including defined benefit pension transfers, and the transfer of pensions with safeguarded benefits. We met with clients over Zoom or face to face in our dedicated London Investor Centre

About your role

To generate income for the business through a high-quality paraplanning service including:

- Provide pension and non-pension technical support to advisers
- Analysis of client holdings and risk profile
- Obtaining details from and chasing ceding schemes, reviewing existing schemes/assets and summarising positions for the adviser(s).
- Researching whole of market annuity quotations appropriate to the client’s personal situation
- Preparing clients cashflow to present proposed recommendation to adviser(s) including replacement business, pension transfers, consolidation and lifetime planning within FCA regulatory rules at all times
- Completing a Transfer Value Analysis Report (TVAS), Transfer Value Comparitor (TVC) and Appropriate Pension Transfer Analysis (APTA)
- Drafting APTA sign off sheet for Pension Transfer Specialist approval
- Drafting client suitability reports and appendices for adviser checking and approval.
- Ensuring advised client business is submitted accurately and in a timely manner.
- Where relevant to speak directly with clients.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the broader Fidelity Wealth Management support teams to ensure all relevant procedures are kept updated and accurate.
- To liaise with Associate Director - Advice to ensure paraplanners have the correct skills and competence to manage the workload and workflow.
- To assist with maintaining an appropriate Paraplanner Training Plan as defined by the T&C scheme.
- To develop new trainee paraplanners to competent status.
- To provide appropriate training & coaching for the junior paraplanner team to achieve levels of competence as defined by the T&C scheme.
- To assist with Paraplanner competency checking as and when required.
- To generate income for the business through the delivery of high quality paraplanning service.
- To liaise with the adviser and support teams to reduce duplication of effort and ensure that all advised clients are well managed in a timely fashion.
- To identify where improvements in service can be made and to manage the paraplanning workload, delegating tasks as appropriate and ensuring all procedures are documented and kept up-to-date
- In maintaining contact with product providers, to refuse all offers of hospitality, however small, and to ensure that the best interests of the client are always protected.
- To operate within FCA and other regulatory rules at all times.
- When placing an annuity on behalf of a client, to ensure that the best possible rate is always obtained.
- To act in a professional and customer focused manner in accordance with the company values at all times.
- To ensure all customer files are kept up-to-date at all times.
- To support and uphold the Fidelity vision and values
- To undertake all reasonable tasks and duties as directed by your supervisor

Experience and Qualifications
- QCF Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planing or equivalent diploma level technical knowledge in financial planning or paraplanning (Essential)
- QCF Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning/PTS equivalent status (Desired)
- Previous knowledge and experience as a paraplanner or financial adviser (E)
- Good IT skills - Word, Excel, Outlook (E)
- Familiarity with Advice Back Office Systems, particularly cashflow and Intelliflo would be an advantage
- Can work equally well on own initiative and as part of a team (E)
- Numerate (E)
- Good communication skills (E)
