Program Coordinator

Description:
Overseeing a team of Child & Youth Care Workers and Team Leads, the Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all program operations including activities, staffing, training, intake/assessments/discharge, and documentation/reporting related to clients, staff, and program operations. Also provides direct care for youth in program.
- Knowledge of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention
- Experience in managing the environment to ensure safety
- Combination of experience with First Nation, Metis and/or Inuit culture
- Experience working under pressure and in high-stress situations
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Organization and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Experience and understanding of complexities such as FASD, addictions, intergenerational trauma and suicidal tendencies
Some of the responsibilities for a Program Coordinator will include:
- Responsible for all day to day operations of the program
- Support and supervise staff and youth in the program; able to problem solve in a professional, respectful manner
- Accessing community supports
- Development and implementation of care plans
- Ensure use of appropriate procedure regarding intake/admission, client contact, reports and discharges
- Evaluate staff performance and participate in the hiring of new staff
- On-call for the program when applicable
- Payroll and financial duties for the program
- Staffing coverage and scheduling
