As our **Manager of Development & Fundraising**, you’ll have the opportunity to take the helm in transforming our brand’s legacy into a cause that resonates with the hearts and minds of people across the province. St. John Ambulance is renowned worldwide for its dedication to first aid, community service, and emergency response, but we need your expertise to ensure it’s no longer a “well-kept secret.” Your mission will be to bring this incredible story to life, showcasing the vital impact we have on communities and inspiring supporters to join us in our work.

In this role, you will:

- **Craft and execute a province-wide fundraising strategy** that will connect our mission with those eager to make a difference.
- **Identify, establish, and nurture key relationships** with stakeholders, partners, and donors who share our vision of safer, healthier communities.
- **Bring energy and innovation** to our fundraising initiatives, tapping into new avenues to grow and engage our supporter base.
- **Deliver, manage, and track a dynamic fundraising plan** to meet our annual targets and propel our mission forward.
- **Provide key insights and reports** to the Director of Marketing & Community Services, the CEO, and our Senior Leadership Team, demonstrating the impact and growth of our initiatives.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Promote organization's mission, vision, and values;
- Develop and implement strategies for cultivating a growing community presence and reach through fundraising initiatives such as community events and programs, corporate partnerships, community foundations, workplace giving, and donor relationships to generate funding for SJA BCY;
- Community Services “Prospecting” to identify new opportunities for charitable funding and partnerships;
- Identify funding opportunities (i.e. researching potential donors, corporate partners, grants, etc.);
- Build and maintain relationships with potential donors and individuals in the community - focus on building trust and credibility;
- Planning and organizing fundraising events and campaigns;
- Collaborate with marketing on creating content/materials to advertise/communicate fundraising events and campaigns;
- Manage budgets for fundraising events and campaigns;
- Regularly update any major stakeholders (external or internal) on fundraising initiatives; and
- Ensure compliance with any fundraising regulations (i.e. policies related to donor confidentiality/privacy, tax regulations, etc.).

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, public relations, or related fields;
- Minimum 4-5 years' experience fundraising with individuals, corporations and foundations;
- High degree of professionalism when interacting with both internal and external stakeholders;
- Experience with development and implementation of fundraising strategies;
- Self-starter capable of managing and prioritizing multiple, time-sensitive projects and priorities; comfortable working independently and as part of a small team;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable and strong presenter to both groups and individuals;
- Strong project management and organizational skills - comfortable handling a variety of different tasks at the same time;
- Ability to cultivate strong relationships with external stakeholders; very strong interpersonal skills;
- Ability to take initiative and lead and manage team members and volunteers during fundraising events/campaigns;
- Effective planning and problem-solving skills;
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and organizational skill
