Temporary assignment-approximately 52 weeks

**PO**SITION SUMMARY**:
The RPN working in the outpatient department assists with the coordination and delivery of high quality patient care of a broad based outpatient population across the continuum of care. Through skilled knowledge base and assessment, education, collaboration and coordination of healthcare and community resources, the RPN assists patients to achieve optimum functional health status and quality of life.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Current registration with the College of Nurse of Ontario required.
- Current medication administration certificate required
- Completion of a physical assessment course preferred
- Must have recent acute medical / surgical experience
- Current BCLS/HCP certification required
- Demonstrated knowledge, sensitivity and expertise in the care of seniors and their families
- Gentle Persuasive Approach training preferred
- Venipuncture skills required for the purposes of venous blood sampling and intravenous therapy
- Strong working knowledge of blood sampling required
- Strong nursing assessment skills and experience in changing complex dressings required
- Excellent organization skills
- Demonstrates ability to function effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrates ability to function in a fast paced environment
- Good attendance and work record is essential

**HOURS OF WORK**:
Monday to Friday, days, evenings

**WAGE RATE**
Hourly Rate: $28.69...$29.92...$31.17 (plus 14% in lieu of benefits)
