_**Portage MCC is looking to fill the following permanent paid position**:_

**Assistant to the Retail Manager**

The Assistant to the Retail Manager is responsible to:

- **Assist in the processing, pricing, and displaying of Retail Department items**:

- **Build relationships with and help supervise volunteer Retail personnel**:

- **Help customers locate items and assist in finding answers to donor and customer queries**
- or full-time paid position (24-37 hours/week).** The Assistant to the Retail Manager must be available to work most weekdays, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with some Saturdays (schedule may be flexible).

Portage MCC has been in operation for over 40 years in Portage la Prairie. We sell donated clothing, books, furniture, and other items to raise income in support of MCC. The shops are a ministry in and of themselves, providing low-cost goods to people in our community as well as providing international and local aid. Our Thrift Shops also makes a valuable contribution to good stewardship and a healthy environment by recycling items that might otherwise be thrown away. We also provide a sense of community to volunteers and the people we serve through social interaction in a caring environment.
