Unity Health Toronto is embarking on a multi-year digital, clinical transformation project to implement a new electronic patient record solution across all sites. The Electronic Patient Record (EPR) project is a pillar of enabling exemplary patient experience and quality of care and therefore see this not as an information technology initiative, but as one founded in clinical transformation and care redesign.

**Job Profile**:
The primary responsibility of the EPR Web and Service Server Administrator will be to manage and execute the installations and administration of all EPR web and service servers.

The newly created role, EPR Web and Service Server Administrator utilizes expert technical knowledge to research, design, propose, investigate, procure, deploy, update, administer, maintain, optimize, support and troubleshoot all EPR web and service servers. In addition, this role will be responsible to restore and manage disaster recovery environments, which form the foundational infrastructure on which the availability, reliability and integrity of all EPR and related systems.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- ** Installation and configuration of web and service servers**
- Designing, configuring, updating and deploying physical and virtual servers with high availability and optimal performance for production and non-production needs;
- Monitors system capacity utilization and performance;
- Manages print queues and EPR printing infrastructure;
- Performs file system management
- ** Server administration, monitoring and maintenance**
- Provisions and manage server security levels and roles;
- Works with vendors and internal teams to design server-level access permissions;
- Manages monitoring tools necessary for high levels of availability and performance of our system;
- Monitors network and Web server activity for security breaches using intrusion detection techniques;
- ** Administrative and other responsibilities**
- Provides mentorship as required to more junior technical support and operational staff in respect to setup, configuration and operational administration of systems;
- Provides reports to management, as required;
- Participates in external/internal system audits;
- Conducts presentations and hosts meetings to discuss new and emerging technologies;
- Participation in the RFP, RFQ and RFI process to select the best vendor and technologies

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or recognized equivalent;
- Eight (8)+ years demonstrated full-time work experience in a related field required;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with database technologies (e.g., Oracle), methods to communicate to the database (e.g., T-SQL, PL-SQL), as well as, business intelligence tools (e.g., Crystal Reports);
- Experience with Windows Active Directory ;
- Experience with managing SAN storage and fabrics of different OEM vendors;
- Experience with enterprise backup/restore solutions (IBM and CommVault);
- Experience with Unix systems such as AIX, Linux;
- Certifications (VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA)) preferred;
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft technologies including Windows Server Administration, IIS, SQL Server, etc., required;
- Demonstrated experience with virtualization platforms such as Citrix, VMware, or Microsoft Hyper?V
- Demonstrated experience with firewall/load balancer configurations required;
- Must have in-depth knowledge of current Windows Server operating systems;
- Logical and analytical in decision making with an organized and well planned approach to work required; with excellent math skills with an asset;
- Possesses strong written and verbal communications skills required;
- Project Management experience considered an asset;
- Ability to function within a 24/7 environment and participate in on call service required.
