**Your Opportunity**:
Rimbey is a bustling family oriented friendly town in one of our rural communities in Central zone. Rimbey is home to a busy Rural hospital attached to a 84 bed Continuing care facility. The Continuing Care or Long Term Care facility unit clerk/scheduler plays an integral role in the operations of the facility. This position reports to the Long Term Care Manager. The Unit Clerk works under limited supervision, and is primarily responsible for: Performing clerical duties including reception of patients/visitors, typing, relaying messages and ordering supplies. Prepares and updates assignment sheets and short notice scheduling duties as required. Maintains and organizes patient charts, including filing reports, ensuring appropriate forms and papers are available for use; ensuring appropriate documentation is available for the physicians in an accurate and timely fashion when required and /or requested. Books, organizes, confirms appointments and transportation where required. Processes physician orders and requisitions following established guidelines. Performs staffing duties to ensure unit is appropriately staffed on a day to day basis in a collaborative role with the administrative assistant. Performs other duties as required. Provides administration support to the care manager include meeting agendas and minutes, filing and paperwork as needed, to cover Administrative Assistant off schedule.

**Description**:
As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
**Preferred Qualifications**:
Prior experience in a health care setting serving the public preferred. Connect Care training would be an asset and preferred. Scheduling programs in Workforce ESP and ePeople knowledge would be an asset. Unit Clerk experience in the health care system is preferred. Other secretarial training such as filing and typing would be an asset.
