**Your Opportunity**:
Within the Adult Inpatient Program, the Concurrent Disorders Enhanced Service at the Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury provides specialized care and treatment for the individuals experiencing both a severe mental health and a severe addictions disorder to support recovery. Reporting to a Unit Manager, the Psychiatric Aide - CDES will be working within a client centered treatment approach and will be responsible for providing patient / family support, discharge planning, group facilitation and individual work with clients to enhance their well-being. You will report all relevant patient information to a staff Nurse / Unit Manager.

**Description**:
As a Psychiatric Aide, you will perform activities within a multi-disciplinary team to meet the personal care needs and comforts of patients in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. Your duties will includes assisting with the provision of routine nursing care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation and safety needs; assisting with organized activities or programs; as well as observing and reporting on a patient's mood, health, and wellbeing. You will be assisting in the maintenance of a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors, and maintaining effective communication with patients and health professionals.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of Grade 12. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Keen observation and communication skills and the ability to work effectively as a team player in and in-patient mental health setting is essential.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Preference given to those with experience in mental health and addictions.
