Our Capital Projects Group, Subways division is seeking a Project Manager specific to **Signals and Train Control Systems **for the Subway Extensions (Scarborough Subway and Yonge North Subway) projects. The Project Manager will support managing all activities relating to the engineering, design, construction, commissioning, and maintenance/operation for YNSE & SSE, in a safe, timely, standardized, and cost-effective manner for quality services.

**What will I be doing?**
- Manages the development phase and design progression as they relate to Signals & Train Control
- Manages the construction activities with Contractors as it relates to Signals & Train Control
- Manages the commissioning activities on behalf of Metrolinx for the Project’s signaling system elements
- Oversees the implementation of and compliance with contractual requirements as they relate to Systems Integration Plans, Systems Engineering Management Plans, Interface Control Documents (ICD’s), and Validation and Verification processes.
- Oversees the implementation by the contractor of the System Co Safety and Security Management Plans, including RAMS processes and deliverables
- Provide assistance in the evaluation/negotiation/resolution of contract changes and contractor’s claims
- Reviews and approves the contractor’s schedule and updates with participation from the project team members as required
- Participates on comment resolution meetings with consultants, contractors, and SMEs to facilitate an early resolution of key issues.
- Reports and escalates as required to the project leads on critical items found through the submittals review that may have a significant impact on the project scope, budget, or timelines.
- Supports the Senior Project Manager with directing and leading the TA (Technical Advisor) and Delivery Partner (DP) for the Progressive Design Build (PDB) Contract(s), through all stages and phases of the SSE & YNSE Project related matters as needed.
- Reviews and evaluates consultant studies, reports, design proposals, specifications, and contract documents, to meet established policies, procedures, and standards.
- Reviews and assists with administration of consultant contracts during all stages of project development/ implementation, including scope, cost, schedule, and resource management; approves tasks sheets, work plans, progress reports and invoice payments; analyzes and manages performance, monthly expenditures, and budgetary constraints.
- Liaises with other project delivery team disciplines, such as civil or architectural, to ensure comprehensive integration with other systems and non-systems facility infrastructure elements.
- Communicates regularly with various internal and external stakeholders, partners, government representatives, contractors, and vendors to advise, communicate, educate, negotiate and/or persuade on issues within scope of responsibility.
- Develops and manage relationships and partnership to ensure affected internal and external parties are consulted and informed, by liaising with technical advisor stakeholder engagement team.
- Supports the project team in the identification and development of project scope and requirements, project controls, schedule and budget management, contract administration, quality and risk management, progress monitoring/ reporting, and change management.
- Ensures full compliance with all external regulatory agencies and partners, required permits and approval, heightens awareness of the priority Metrolinx places on safety, and represents Metrolinx with regulators as required.

**What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?**
- Completion of a degree in Engineering, or a related discipline - or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
- Minimum six (8) years progressively experience in the transportation and/or public transit sector, which includes managing/leading a group of technical staff and/or managing complex projects.
- Experience in Communication Based Train Control “CBTC” signaling systems and Fixed Block signaling systems
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario is an asset.
