Draftsman / Detailer

**Job purpose**

Provide quality assurance oversight to ensure clients Drawing Standards compliance is achieved on all structural construction and as-built drawings. Provide structural technical expertise and leadership relative to facilities drawings.

**Duties and responsibilities**

Reporting to the Chief Draftsman, the Draftsmen / Detailer is responsible for:

- Preparing shop drawings for approval & fabrication.
- Prepare erection drawing for installation of structural & miscellaneous steelwork.
- Check shop & field drawings to ensure drawings are in accordance with project scope, client specifications & all applicable codes & regulations.
- Reviewing IFA drawings and BFA.
- Creating RFI’s, IFA’s, IFC’s.
- Supporting the field with any field items.

**Skills and Qualifications**

Mandatory experience and qualifications
- High level of knowledge of industry standard detailing practices.
- Successful completion of steel detailing training from a recognized college or technical school; preferred structural detailing certificate.
- At least 7 years’ experience in a detailing role and progressive responsibility for planning execution and monitoring of major steel detailing projects.
- Three or more years’ experience supervising coaching and mentoring staff.
- Proficiency in TEKLA Structures software and Blue Beam software.
- Strong attention to details & Proven Experience of Misc. detailing
- Ability to organize, guide & manage the work of outsource drafting team

**Salary**: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- AutoCAD: 1 year (preferred)
- drafting: 1 year (preferred)
