**(Senior Commercial Manager)**:
POWER Engineers Canada, Inc, is seeks a full time Senior Commercial Manager working in office at our Toronto, ON office. Must be located within commuting distance of the office. No relocation allowance will be provided for this position.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates
- Recruit, hire and supervise staff and/or volunteers
- Hire and supervise activities of subcontractors
- Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress
- Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements
- Establish and implement policies and procedures for quality control
- Read blueprint, schemas and drawings
- Select trade subcontractors and co-ordinate their activities
- Plan and manage budgets
- Develop risk management plans
- Oversee the analysis of data and information
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
- Prepare reports

**Job Duties**:

- Contract Management
- Advising on procurement strategy
- Preparation of Request for Proposal (RFP)
- Evaluation of RFP, produce recommendations to customer
- Monitoring Compliance to contracts
- Issuing contracts
- Change Management Negotiation and Processing Contract Change Orders
- Implementation of change management procedures and driving procedures throughout project lifecycle
- Assistance in claims resolution
- Contract Close-Out
- Review Request for Information (RFI) and advise on any cost impacts
- Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
- Market test cost estimates from Contractors, lead cost estimating workshops
- Provide cost advice of Value Engineering
- Develop procurement and commercial management plan
- Risk Management
- Developing and Monitoring Risk Register and lead Status Meetings
- Identify Potential Risks
- Develop mitigation plans with the project team
- Lead Monthly Project Reviews
- Dispute Resolution
- Monitor and Report on any Claims
- Develop Back Charges/Impacts
- Project Accounting
- Review and Comment on Cost Model/Estimate Logic
- Support Internal Invoicing
- Monitor budget, using Earned Value, including CPI and SPI
- Review monthly reports and advise customer
- Scheduling
- Collaborate the Project Controls Manager on schedule issues/ impact
- Attend weekly schedule meetings and identify design team tasks
- Review schedule adjustments for change orders

**Other**:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial management;
- Experience with major infrastructure projects with value of $1b+, particularly power utility projects;
- Experience in alliancing contracts and methods of collaborative working;
- Transmission and Distribution Executive experience will be given preference;
- Extensive International experience pref’d;
- Up to 50% travel could be required;
- Working knowledge of Construction industry contracting practices, applicable government and commercial regulations and practices, policies, procedures and work practices req’d;
- Working knowledge of project controls, project management, and project estimating software req’d;
- Experience in development of contracts, administration and negotiation of change orders, effective correspondence, planning and scheduling req’d;
- Ability to work well in a high-performing team structure in a fast-paced environment req’d;
- A positive professional reputation as one who can deliver quality, cost-effective projects req’d;
- Self-starter; good communication and people skills req’d; and
- Ability to teach, lead, and mentor others.
