**Location/**Lieu: Newmarket, ON

**Position/**Poste: Employment Counsellor - Full Time

Recruiting for an Employment Counsellor formally referred to as a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist

**Duties/**Fonctions:

- Accept new program referrals: Coordinate and complete intake meeting(s) in a timely manner ensuring registration forms are completed and uploaded to internal data systems
- Assist individuals with disabilities to identify realistic employment options through, transferable skills analysis and vocational assessment and exploration
- Deliver services in a manner that is sensitive and accommodating
- Provide employment and motivational counseling
- Create resumes and cover letters tailored to client’s needs and employment objectives
- Instruct employment readiness programs in accordance with MODC and funder guidelines/standards
- Ensure administrative acuity to complete employment plans, Initial Assessment and monthly Progress reports
- Create/Modify service plans that reflective of clients’ evolving needs goals
- Maintain accurate and current case notes; within 48 hours of meetings/occurrences
- Appropriate use of case management/IT systems i.e., CaMS
- Case manage services to ensure timely and cost-effective service delivery
- Achieve quality service standards for client satisfaction, timely delivery of service and employment outcomes

**Qualifications/**Compétences requises:

- Bachelor’s degree or Community College Diploma in Social Services
- Registered Rehabilitation Professional certification (RRP) or Registered Vocational Professional (RVP) or Return to Work Disability Manager (RTWDM) equivalent would be considered an asset
- Experience teaching and facilitating employment programs
- Sensitivity to issues/barriers that people with disabilities experience
- Familiar with current methods of employment counseling including intake and assessment, service planning, career decision making, job search, labour market research and job placement
- Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills
- Well-developed time management, organization, and teamwork skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to document, maintain records and analyze and write reports
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
