**About the Unit**:

Yara's dynamic global presence and unique business model allows the company to be an industry shaper. Belle Plaine is in Saskatchewan, Canada 50 km west of Regina on highway #1.

**Responsibilities**:
The Emergency Response and Safety Supervisor will report to the Health, Environment, Safety and Quality (HESQ) Manager and will be accountable for all emergency response related activities at site. Additionally, they will be accountable to develop and drive site safety programs. The Supervisor will lead the safety and security teams at site towards the goal of zero harm.
- Liaise with Saskatchewan OH&S as needed.
- Monitor and understand health and safety legislation, codes and standards (e.g., CSA),
- Plan, organize, and conduct inspections of workplace to support and coach employees and contractors to ensure compliance of Yara safety programs.
- Monitor site conditions, practices, through audits and observation for compliance with Yara health and safety requirements and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Assist with incident investigations to determine accurate root causes and corrective actions and ensure follow up is completed.
- Assist with risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis)
- Enter safety incident information in site safety database in a timely manner.
- Develop and coordinate site emergency response training and exercises.
- Review site emergency response equipment inspections and follow up on completed actions to resolve deficiencies.
- Maintain representation within the mutual aid group for transportation emergency response.
- Maintain emergency preparedness, emergency response assistance plan and security manuals.
- Coordinate security risk assessments and updates to security plans
- Review and approve security standard operating procedures. -Participate in HAZOP and Technical discussions related to site projects.

**Education Experience & Skill**:

- OH&S Practitioner, NCSO, CRSP or other related post -secondary education.
- Experience with a focus on Industrial Safety.
- Ability to work as a member of a team.
- Fertilizer, oil and gas or petrochemical industry experience with site specific knowledge.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Effective communication skills are required.
- Ability to work and travel safely on an industrial site.
- Ability to understand contractor work scope and provide feedback on safety practices for specific tasks.
- Maintain credentials as coordinator for transportation emergency response team.
