We are looking to hire a reliable **HSE Specialist** responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Management System at the Aurora API manufacturing facility. This position is based onsite and supports local operations by ensuring compliance, reducing risk, and driving sustainability efforts.

EHS Management Systems
- Manage the EHS Management System to reduce risks and improve site safety and environmental performance.
- Develop and implement programs and procedures that meet regulatory requirements and align with corporate EHS standards.
- Oversee the EHS Learning Management System (LMS) to support training and compliance.
- Maintain the EHS compliance calendar.
- Track and report on CAPA completion to ensure timely resolution of reported incidents.

EHS Compliance & Program Management
- Support site management with incident investigations, root cause analyses, and assignment & tracking of CAPAs as needed.
- Partner closely with internal cross-functional stakeholders to communicate, secure support, and inform the facility of EHS compliance risks and gain alignment on initiatives and priorities to foster a strong site safety culture.
- Provide technical support for EHS programs (LOTO, Confined Space, WHMIS, Respiratory Protection, Chemical Hygiene, etc.)
- Maintain and control site Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Assessing site compliance with corporate policies/guidelines and federal, provincial, and local regulations through periodic workplace audits and walkthroughs.
- Work closely with Facilities, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Laboratory teams to ensure contractors and subcontractors work in compliance with site EHS requirements.
- Conduct site-specific risk assessments and implement controls aligned with the hierarchy of controls to mitigate risks effectively.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation, as well as corporate EHS policies and standards.
- Provide oversight for respiratory protection programs and support the implementation of key EHS initiatives.

Sustainability
- Support sustainability initiatives and implement environmentally responsible practices.
- Collaborate with teams to develop and implement initiatives that align with corporate sustainability goals and reduce the site's environmental footprint.
- Monitor and report on environmental performance.

**Job Requirements**

**Educational and Professional Attainment**
- A degree, diploma, or OHS certification in science, engineering, or related field and/or relevant work experience.
- Relevant certifications in EHS (e.g., CRSP, CHSC, ROH, CIH) are preferred but not mandatory.

**Minimum Job-Related Work Experience**
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in EHS.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry is preferred.

**Skills and Knowledge**
- Proficiency in EHS management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
- Proficient in data analysis and root cause identification.
- Thorough understanding of risk assessments, occupational exposure limits (OELs), and the hierarchy of controls for managing workplace hazards.
- Proficient in managing EHS training software to facilitate effective training delivery, ensure accurate data tracking, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Experienced in coordinating third-party EHS training programs and delivering effective, engaging sessions to staff to meet organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Experienced in managing subcontractor programs, including coordinating onboarding, monitoring compliance, and ensuring alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, databases, and SAP.
