Overview:
We are now hiring for a FULLTIME (Permanent) Final Assembler - all shifts, to work in our flight kitchen located on the grounds of Ottawa International Airport located at 139 Thad Johnson Private Gloucester, Ottawa K1V 1A2.

A Final Assembler is responsible for the final assembly of trolleys in the department. Each group of trolleys is assembled according to the type and size of the flight for which they are being used. A Final Assembler may assemble up to 100 flights per shift working either as a team or individually.

The duties of the Final Assembler include but not limited to the following:

- Checking flight bill
- the worker reviews the flight bills to determine what items are required for each flight. The counter height is 36 inches high, which may require the worker to bend slightly. This activity is done intermittently throughout the day and the bending is not required for any prolonged periods of time.
- Assembling flights-trolleys that have been rebuilt are brought over to the assembly area by the bar/boutique builders. The assembler stages the trolleys according to flight number. *Headsets, hampers and satchels are added, as requested, to the trolleys to complete the flight. Fully assembled flights are pushed into the cold room to await pickup. The worker marks the flight complete on a board in the cold room.

Own transportation is an asset as public transport is limited in the area.

This position is represented by a labour Union and is covered by one or more collective bargaining agreement/s.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work 8 hours rotative shifts that will include weekdays, weekends and holidays
- Work overtime when required

- Excellent communicator (oral and written), who demonstrates sound judgment, tact, and works well in high-pressure situations.

- Must have skill and ability to understand and read spec.
- Able to handle multi-tasks and adapt to change.
- Self-motivated, and able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to work in an environment that encourages and fosters teamwork, participation, creativity, honesty and mutual respect.
- Knowledge of safe lifting techniques, as regular and repetitive heavy lifting (approx. 50lbs) is required.
- Ability to work shift work

Environmental Requirements and Working Conditions:

- Will be exposed to extreme temperature changes and noise
- Majority of duties performed outside in a variety of weather conditions
- Subject to cold temperatures (ranging from +10 degrees Celsius to at or below 0-degrees Celsius)
- Subject to hot temperatures
- Works with chemicals and industrial cleaning materials
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment and supplies up to fifty (50) pounds
- This is a physically demanding position - Regularly stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours
- Must be able to work at heights up to 25 feet or more depending upon aircraft
