Forklift Driver/ Shakeout Operator

**Position Title: Forklift Shakeout Operator**

**Primary Function**: Remove cast parts from sand molds after a defined cooling period has passed. Tag parts with job traveler documentation and move to a storage area. Drive forklift to move bin of parts from shakeout location to the finishing room, etc.

**Tools & Equipment**: Bobcat, forklift, hand tools, gloves, safety boots, hearing protection, eye protection.

**Education / Knowledge**:Basic familiarity with the use of manual and electric hand tools. Familiarity with rolling stock operation.

**Skills / Competencies**:

- **Works under minimum direction from the Foundry Supervisor.**
- **Effectively removes castings from sand molds.**
- **Effectively documents part bins before moving to storage areas.**
- **Inspects work in accordance with shop order specifications and identifies part nonconformance's as directed.**
- **Carries out prescribed preventive maintenance activities in accordance with schedule / checklists.**
- **Applies close mental and visual attention involving close tolerances.**
- **Assists manual moulders with setting up their machines after each mould is made.**
- **Minimizes scrap and rework.**
- **Handles medium to heavy materials while driving a forklift.**
- **Communicates well with Toolmakers and the Foundry Supervisor.**
- **Works safely avoiding injuries.**
- **Minimum absenteeism and is punctual.**
- **Completes shop records accurately and completely.**
- **Performs other work as assigned by the Foundry and Finishing Supervisors.**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $22.00 per hour
