Camp Counsellor/swimming Instructor

**Supercamp **is a non-profit day camp located in Ville St. Laurent. We welcome about 300 campers and leaders each week, allowing them the opportunity to try new things, discover new passions and develop new skills. Come and join our staff of more than 50 counsellors and specialists

**Main duties as a Swimming instructor/counsellor**

Animate groups of children and ensure their safety during the activities including swimming lessons. Create and organize different activities and follow the program set forth by the administration of the camp. Prepares and gives swimming lessons to their group. Prepares daily activities for their group. Collaborate with other counsellors to create group games and activities. Ensures the safety of participants at all times. Etc.

**Requirements**:

- Education_:

- Grade 10 (Sec. 4) (16 years old minimum)
- Skills: _
- Ability to work and communicate properly with a team
- Ability to take on leadership roles
- Sense of responsibility and punctuality
- Ability to adapt. Energy and enthusiasm
- Ability to work well with children and parents
- Good communication skills with a demonstrated enthusiasm for working with youth
- Bilingualism (French/English)
- Non-Scholarly Training: _
- Valid National Lifeguard certification - RCR from the Lifesaving Society (asset)
- Water Safety Instructor certification from the Red Cross or equivalent (asset)
- Previous lifeguarding and/or camp experience considered
- CIT/DAFA formation considered
- Valid first aid certification

**Conditions**:

- Hours: 40 hours/week

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 8 weeks

**Experience**:

- camp: 1 year (preferred)
- lifeguarding and/or swimming instructor: 1 year (preferred)

- N.L.S. certification (preferred)
