Clinical Psychologist

**Qualifications**:
**Education**: Doctorate in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) or Master’s/Bachelor in Psychology with significant experience
**Licensure**: Must be registered for autonomous practice with the provincial regulatory body in British Columbia.
**Experience**:
- Proven expertise in psychological assessments and therapy, particularly with offender populations.
- Familiarity with cognitive-behavioral interventions and evidence-based risk assessment tools.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Psychological Services**:
- Conduct psychological assessments and risk evaluations for offenders.
- Provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral techniques.
- Address offenders' mental health needs, focusing on reducing reoffending risks and improving emotional and behavioral functioning.
**Collaboration**:
- Work with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing, social work, occupational therapy, and case management.
- Participate in case conferences, intervention boards, and health team meetings.
**Documentation and Reporting**:
- Prepare detailed psychological reports in compliance with federal and provincial legislation, CSC guidelines, and professional standards.
- Submit timely and accurate documentation to the Project Authority.
- Share assessment and treatment reports with offenders, obtaining necessary signatures.
**Compliance and Quality Assurance**:
- Ensure services adhere to the Canadian Code of Ethics for Psychologists and relevant CSC policies.
- Respond to report amendment requests promptly to meet CSC’s quality standards.
**Telepsychology Services**:
- Provide psychological services via videoconferencing as required.
**Offender Risk Management**:
- Develop risk management strategies and contribute to decision-making processes, including parole evaluations.
- Conduct assessments for specific offender populations, such as sexual offenders, using validated tools (e.g., STATIC-99R, STABLE-2007).
**Support and Participation**:
- Assist in CSC grievance and investigation processes.
- Provide backup resources to ensure continuity of services during absences.
**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 100 weeks
Pay: $90.00-$110.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
Flexible language requirement:
- French not required

**Experience**:
- clinical /counseling psychology within 5y: 2 years (required)
- psychological risk assessments within last 10y: 5 years (required)
- assessing complex cases within last 5y: 1 year (required)
- diagnosis of complex and devising multi-target treatment: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
- psychologists license in B.C. (required)
