**Summary**:
Under the direction of the General Manager of Logistics, the Supervisor is tasked with the safety, business development, and management of staff for their respective area. The Supervisor will conduct various business activities to ensure continuous operations and will act as a liaison between the company and the client. The supervisor will ensure that all work is being performed in a safe and timely fashion and that records of such are kept in an organized and easily traceable manner. The incumbent must conduct all business in manner the supports the mission, vision and values of the Fort McKay Group of Companies LP.
This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment testing

**Key Focus**:

- Oversee all ongoing activities pertaining to Logistics, and determine what equipment, services, manpower, and other essentials are required.
- Address all needs of directed reporting personnel including performance management, training, and development.
- Organize transportation activities, managing information accrued from point of origin to delivery, orchestrating transportation movements, and arranging for services as necessary
- Train, supervise, co-ordinate and schedule daily activities of workers, executing logistics plan to move products and packages to reach destinations on schedule, ensuring compliance with client policies and Fort McKay Group of Companies policies.
- Establish methods to meet schedules and coordinate work activities with other project supervisors or managers; track utilization and hours on rental equipment.
- Collaborate with the Team Leaders and Managers to identify, implement, and lead improvement, and quality opportunities through the logistics process.
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity.
- Work with distribution centers, transport and dispatch operations and coordinate activities as needed to optimize efficiency in both operations and capacity.
- Liaise with external representatives and provide support, responding to concerns and issues as required, and maintain/enhance business relationships.
- Participate in weekly meetings, tool box talks, site tours, and stewardships as needed to ensure all company and client Logistics concerns are addressed.
- Coordinate and track movements of goods through logistics pathways.
- Review freight rates and any other associated transportation costs to keep working costs low.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
- Perform any related and/or additional duties as assigned

**Knowledge and Skill Requirements**:

- Completion of a High School Diploma is required.
- Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or other discipline is considered is preferable.
- A valid Class 5 License (or equivalent) is required, along with a satisfactory 3-year Drivers Abstract.
- CSTS and OSSA or CSO/BSO are considered an asset.
- Knowledge in MS Office; specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
- Experience in SAP is considered an asset.

- At least 7+ years of supervisory experience managing staff in a Logistics, Supply Chain, or Warehousing environment is required. Experience in a Transportation environment is required.
- Problem solving skills: problems are solved within general policies and rules under general/limited guidance.
- Specialized knowledge pertaining to transport and rail infrastructure is required.
- Highly organized with strong planning skills.
- Ability to write reports and correspondence and speak effectively to a group of employees or clients.
- Effective communicator and interpersonal skills, including excellent oral, written communication, and listening skills
- Ability to work independently and multitask, as well as in a team environment. Able to relate to all types of people.
- Focus oriented, with a strong attention to detail.
- Promote and assist in the effective implementation of FMGOC Safety programs and processes.
- Strong commitment to safety, including personal safety, safety of co-workers, and protection of FMGOC and client’s property in accordance and compliance with company practices, industry standards, and government regulations.
