**Horticulturist/Garden Leaders**

**Green Works Contracting** is a multi-service landscaping and design company in the nation’s capital focused on providing quality landscaping and friendly, hands-on service and Ottawa’s largest sod installers. **We are currently seeking **_**Horticulturists / Garden Leaders **_**to join our amazing team for the Spring/Summer/Fall 2024 season**

**Notes**:

- Option to do winter work prior to the summer 2024 season.

**Responsibilities**:

- Implementing landscape maintenance plans for gardens and outdoor spaces.
- Planting, pruning, and maintaining trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plants.
- Installing various landscape materials like mulch, rocks, sod/seed, ect.
- Monitoring and irrigation systems to ensure proper watering.
- Conducting regular inspections to identify and address pest and disease issues.
- Collaborating with clients to understand their preferences and provide recommendations for plant selection and placement.
- Maintaining equipment and tools used in horticultural tasks.
- Keeping accurate records of work performed and materials used.

**Qualifications**:

- Must be able to commute to office and shop near Stevenage & Hawthorne.
- Class G Licence with a clean drivers abstract.
- Trailer hauling experience.
- Education or proven experience in landscape maintenance and garden care (Minimum or 3 years experience).
- Strong knowledge of plant (weeds, annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees). Species, their growth requirements, and common pests and diseases.
- Proficiency in operating horticultural equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and sprayers.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.
- Able to lift a minimum of 50lb.
- Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members.

**Salary**: $22.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 - 60 per week

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
