Salary Range: Annual salary within range $85,000.00 - $95,000.00, commensurate on skills and
experience, plus optional participation in HOOPP.
Position Reports To: Director, Director Clinical Services, Quality, Risk and Performance
Work Location: Oshawa (with flexibility to work in other sites as required: Whitby, Ajax, and Pickering)

Position Overview

Carea is seeking an energetic, detail oriented, organized, and process-driven individual to join the Quality,
Risk and Performance (QRP) team to support our multi-site organization in Durham Region. Reporting to
the Director of Quality, Risk & Performance (QRP), the Special Projects Manager will play an essential role
in leading Carea’s Accreditation process and collaborate on a variety of specific projects aimed at quality
improvement, performance measurement, and risk management.

Carea CHC will undergo an accreditation review in October 2024 and the Special Projects Manager will be
responsible for development of Carea’s Accreditation workplan, including training, resources, and
stakeholder engagement. With guidance from the Director and in collaboration with QRP colleagues and
Carea’s management team, the Manager will perform a gap analysis intended to assess Carea’s
compliance with relevant standards and identify opportunities for improvement, working closely with all
departments to develop and deliver the evidence required to demonstrate Carea’s achievement of CCA
standards. Another key area of focus for this role is organizational alignment with the Freedom of
Information and Personal Privacy Act (FIPPA), Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA),
Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and will be accountable for
updating related corporate policies and procedures as required.

This position is expected to work in person and virtually and will be responsible to supervise, evaluate,
and report on the performance of management and staff toward Carea’s accreditation and privacy
adherence processes.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management
- As part of Carea’s Quality, Risk, and Performance team, develop and manage applicable project
plans; design systems to ensure that individuals and teams are meeting deadlines for key
activities including document submission, policy reviews, site preparation, selection and
management of interview teams and distribution of surveys to community partners and staff
- Contribute to and assist with delivery of communication plans to inform and update staff, Board
members and other key stakeholders about accreditation and other QRP activities
- Facilitate the preparation of identified accreditation standard owners to participate in self
- assessment, gap analysis, and action plan development and implementation.
- Ensure timely entry of relevant documentation in the CCA portal-Develop a project charter and related documentation to support Carea’s refreshed alignment
with applicable privacy and confidentiality legislation-Develop a communication and training plan for Carea employees to ensure awareness and
consistent uptake and implementation of privacy practices
