**The Position: Industrial **Painter**

The Painter is responsible for tending to and operating machines that spray/coat products with paint. The Painter will be responsible for ensuring that all parts are sprayed to a consistently high quality in a fast-paced manufacturing atmosphere. Responsibilities will include selecting or mixing the appropriate paint and reading and interpreting blueprints. In the course of his/her duties, the Painter will inspect surfaces for contamination prior to coating as well as completions of all previous operations. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

**Main Duties**:

- Operate hand-held spray guns to spray paint or coat large items with protective coatings.
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Mark, record and report defects.
- Selecting and mixing the appropriate paint.
- Clean and maintain painting and coating guns, ventilation, wash booth and personal protective equipment.
- Comply with company policies and safe work procedures.
- Other duties as required.

**Employment Requirements**:

- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Previous experience working as a painter in a manufacturing setting.

**Specific Skills**:

- Experience using a spray gun or experience with powder paint systems.
- Ability to work independently.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, with an ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Must be able to distinguish colors.
- Critical eye for identifying defects.
- Commitment to quality and safety.
