**Your Opportunity**:
This is an exciting opportunity with the Strathcona Community Hospital, Ambulatory Care Clinics (ACC). This facility offers a 24/7 Emergency Department, Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging services, as well as multiple Ambulatory Clinics. The Unit Clerk, under the general supervision of the Manager, serves as the first point of contact in matters concerning the efficient administration of the clinic. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the successful incumbent will be responsible for the management of incoming and outgoing telephone calls and faxes, greeting and directing patients/visitors, as well as managing patient records/charts. The incumbent is responsible for relaying information related to admissions/transfers/discharges of patients, diagnostic testing, booking of appointments, and patient referrals/consults.

**Description**:
As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.

Strong critical thinking skills, along with demonstrated time-management and organizational skills, in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, and work with frequent interruptions. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and written). Experience working with sensitive and confidential information in a responsible and ethical manner.
