**Position Summary**

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to recipes and standards set by Muskoka Bay Resort. This role requires someone with a strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety regulations, and a commitment to delivering high-quality meals to our customers.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- May act as lead cook on line in preparing meals to order in a timely fashion;
- Maintain care of equipment using preventative maintenance techniques;
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area at all times using proper food handling and storage procedures;
- In conjunction with the Chef and Sous Chef, review menu cycles and check supplies needed for all meals and special events;
- Uphold high quality menu options that meet and exceed resident expectations;
- Must be available to work all shifts;
- Practice hygienic food-handling, preparation and serving techniques;
- Prepare a variety of goods and items needed for special events;
- Oversee second cooks and dishwashers to ensure team is working together;
- Ensure that all prep work and products are lined up for upcoming production;
- Complete food tracking worksheets when necessary;
- Maintain commitment to excellence in carrying out production responsibilities;
- Work with Sous Chef and Chef in supervising, receiving all goods and their proper storage;
- Organize coolers daily ensuring all items are wrapped, labeled and dated

**Qualifications**
- Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or food service establishment.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety regulations, and kitchen equipment operation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Culinary degree or certification is a plus, but not required.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
- Passion for food and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences to customers.

Muskoka Bay Resort does not currently have staff housing available.
