Bus Driver

:
Provides safe transportation for program participants to and from the program sites and/or daily special trips. Assists program staff, volunteers and participants during outings, trips and shopping. Ensures that all work is carried out within the context of the Agency’s Mission Statement, Board approved policies and organizational practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Observe all traffic laws and safety regulations for buses
- Drive program participants to and from programs and on scheduled trips as
required
- Assist program staff, volunteers and participants during outings, trips, shopping
- Ensure the safety and well-being of participants, staff and volunteers while on the
bus
- Follow assigned routes and adhere to set schedules and hours
- Follow bus safety protocol (circle check etc); report any issues to Program Director.
- Arrange for scheduled maintenance and service of the bus; coordinate with
Program Director
- Complete necessary forms (mileage, maintenance log)
- Keep bus clean and fueled
- Report all incidents, accidents, vehicle damage and participants injuries as they
occur
- Perform other assigned duties when the bus is not in working order and/or the
transportation is cancelled due to weather conditions

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Valid “F” class license
- **Minimum** 5 years’ experience with class “F” license required.
- Safe Driving Record - Current Drivers Abstract required.
- Enjoys working with youth and seniors
- Knowledge of safe passenger loading and unloading procedures
- Geographic knowledge of Greater Toronto Area, especially Scarborough
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid an asset
