Hospitalité Canada is a service orientated homestay organization in the Niagara Region, working in partnership with Niagara School Boards in the provision of homestay accommodation, custodianship and other related services to international students.

**Major Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Targeted and ongoing recruitment, screening and onboarding of new host families
- Make homestay placements as required in consultation with school district staff, agencies, hosts and international families
- Orient new students and families to the expectations of the homestay program
- Assist with student 24/7 emergency phone line when needed
- Problem solve student and homestay related issues as they arise
- Facilitate medical arrangements and care of ill students, as needed
- Communicate directly with the students’ local custodians and families in their home country regarding issues that develop
- Guide students and families in emergent or crisis homestay situations.
- Plan chaperon visits to students at host family homes
- Organize YYZ pick-up and drop-off schedules. Transport students, if needed
- Organize and deliver ongoing homestay networking and support seminars
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Director

**Job requirements**:

- Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in international education related, marketing, counselling or related combination
- A minimum 1 year of experience working in a homestay program or intercultural environment in community organizations or in an educational setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to use reasonable judgment and tact when dealing with culturally sensitive issues and in conflict situations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and personal information
- Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with all stakeholders
- Ability to work independently, to set priorities and meet deadlines
- Able to work in multi-cultural environments with people whose first language is not English
- Comfortable working and dealing with stressful situations - Able to demonstrate “calm”
- Comfortable speaking to large groups (host family groups and/or student groups)
- Computer Skills - minimum MS Office Suite including Word, Excel and MS Access
- Ability to work flexible hours, evening, weekends and holiday periods, when required.
- Hybrid Model - must have home-office space to work remotely, with printer and smartphone access
- Valid ON driver’s license along with a safe driving record
- A personal vehicle
- Fluency in written and spoken English, fluency in a second language an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
