Telecom Estimator

The Telecom Project Estimator reports to the Senior Estimator and the Telecom VP and is involved in all aspects of the project estimating process from acquiring RFP opportunities and bidding on new projects, to supporting Project Managers with administrative tasks throughout project execution. The Telecom Project Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project specifications, conducting cost assessments, and providing comprehensive estimates to potential clients.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Seek out new project opportunities for bidding
- Review project specifications, drawings, and plans to understand requirements and scope of work
- Conduct detailed cost analysis, considering materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other related expenses
- Collaborate with the Senior Estimator and Project Managers to develop accurate cost estimates
- Prepare comprehensive project estimates using estimating software
- Provide administrative support to the Project Management team as needed
- Identify project risks and uncertainties that may impact cost estimates and provide recommendations to mitigate risk
- Develop and maintain a database of price lists, cost factors, and historical data
- Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and vendors to obtain quotes and pricing information for materials and services
- Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors, and prepare the most accurate estimate quote/estimate
- Prepare and present project estimates to internal management and clients
- Review and analyze project contracts, identifying any cost implications, terms and conditions
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- In-depth knowledge of construction industry best practices and current labour, material, and equipment costs
- Ability to read and interpret project documentation such as blueprints, specifications, and contracts
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work under pressure and follow through on strict deadlines
**Experience, Requirements and Certifications**
Required:
- 3 years of experience in construction estimation or equivalent construction experience
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Class 5 Driver’s License
Recommended:
- Certifications in construction estimating or relevant fields

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $24.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 - 45 per week
