**Career Opportunity**:
CanOps is seeking a Director of Information Technology for the Provincial Emergency Communications Center. The position is preferred to be office based, with opportunity for a hybrid work model. This is a permanent fulltime position out of our Prince Albert location.

**Responsibilities**

**Leadership**:

- Lead and mentor the IT operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Work closely with the Manager of IT to set performance goals, assist in conducting regular performance evaluations, and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Participate as an active member of the senior management team and other committees as required.
- Coach and enable employees to reach individual goals and targets for their professional development.
- Participate in training, mentoring and monitoring of technical service staff to ensure that corporate goals and strategies are achieved through the success of individual employees.
- Work effectively within the overall management framework and function in a team environment.
- Work/partner with vendors, partners, and clients to deliver high quality, professional IT solutions.

**Capacity Resource Management**:

- Oversee the capacity and resource management within the IT department. This includes assessing current and future needs, planning for growth, and ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to support business operations
- Infrastructure Management:

- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure.
- Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of IT systems.

**Budget Management**:

- Develop and manage the IT operations budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. This includes forecasting and making strategic decisions to optimize spending while meeting business objectives.

**Vendor Management**:

- Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to ensure seamless IT operations.
- Negotiate and manage contracts, service level agreements, and relationships.
- Security and Compliance:

- Implement and enforce security measures to protect the organization's data and systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Software License Management:

- Manage software licenses across the organization. This includes ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, tracking license usage, and coordinating with vendors to procure necessary licenses.

**IT Reporting and Dashboards**:

- Oversee the development and maintenance of IT reporting systems and dashboards. This includes gathering data from various sources within the IT department, analyzing it, and presenting it in a clear and concise manner to the Executive Director. These reports will provide insights into key performance indicators, resource utilization, and overall IT effectiveness.

**Strategic Planning**:

- Contribute to the development of strategic plans for the IT department in alignment with organizational goals. This involves identifying opportunities for improvement in technology infrastructure, systems integration, security measures, and operational processes.

**Operational Efficiency**:

- Work closely with other teams within the organization to identify opportunities for improving operational efficiency. This may involve implementing new technologies, streamlining processes, or enhancing existing systems to increase productivity and reduce costs.

**Client Relations**:

- Attend trade shows and attend off-site or out of province meetings as required.
- Develop and participate in collaborative working relationships with other departments, governments agencies and operational entities including vendors.

**Requirements/Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree or College technical diploma with a minimum 10 years demonstrated business management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience obtained in another suitable manner.
- Proven experience in IT leadership roles, with a focus on operations.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and security.
- Public Safety Systems operations is an asset.
- Financial management experience is required.
- Must be highly organized, motivated, and focused.
- Knowledge of software licensing agreements and experience in managing software license compliance.
- Proficiency in developing comprehensive reports and dashboards using relevant
