Overview

The Specialist, Cybersecurity is responsible in ensuring the proper execution of the following:

- Monitor and audit security systems to identify weaknesses in hardware, software, or employee procedures.
- Perform security updates on servers and network devices.
- Maintain and administer security policies and updates on firewalls, VPN infrastructure and a Microsoft 365 tenant.
- Perform security monitoring using leading edge technology and software such as DLP’s and Darktrace.
- Perform vulnerability scans and penetration testing of the corporate network and devices.
- Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure and processes that ensure networks and systems remain secured while maintaining a good user experience for our corporate users.
- Assist in the delivery of workplans tied to the ITTMP and the Infrastructure and Security Risk Assessment.
- Work with a wide variety of security controls ensuring on-premises services while maintaining services level agreements.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- University degree or College diploma in Computer Science, Information Security or related field.
- 2 years of experience working in the cyber security field.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Industry standard certifications such as ITIL, CIISP, SSCP, Security+ etc. are an asset.
- The ability to speak in both French and English will be considered an asset.
- The ability to provide excellent customer service to end users across all municipal departments.
- Possess the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast paced environment, where adaptability, teamwork and excellent communication skills are essential.
- Strong listening skills, attention to detail and innovative thinking are strengths enabling you to support end users while adhering to corporate policies.
- Possess and maintain a valid unrestricted Driver’s License (G class).

The City of Cornwall offers a starting annual salary of $74,298 plus a comprehensive benefits package.
