**ABOUT THE ROLE.**

The Production Planning Specialist s a key role in the Operations team at NDA with a mandate to build and execute effective production plans and schedule to meet customer demand to enhance customer experience and optimize costs. This role coordinates the production planning for our warehouse operations by: planning, organizing, preparing, and managing production plans and schedules to achieve optimum productivity, output and capacity utilization.
- Develop daily, weekly and monthly master production schedules based on capacity requirements.
- Derive an intimate knowledge of the resulting requirements for raw materials and packaging supplies based on MRP methodology;
- Identify then develop a deep understanding of balancing production and inventory levels with demand to support target consistent with 99% customer service levels, inventory turn goals, capacity utilization and staffing requirements;
- Audit and investigate daily work orders, looking for discrepancies and variations from the production plan, working in coordination with the inventory control team. On a temporary basis, support production management in closing and costing production work orders on a timely basis.
- Work closely with production staff to understand the daily nuances in production that inform how, when, where, what and why specific SKUs are scheduled.
- Demonstrate a proficient capability in performing and publishing root cause analyses on key metrics including Customer Service Level, Actual vs. Scheduled Productions and Master Schedule Compliance, Adherence and Stability

**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.**
- 3 to 5 years in a Supply and Production Planning role or similarly related experience within Supply Chain Planning (Demand Planning, Master Production Scheduling, Production Planning etc.)
- Post Secondary education in Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field
- Strong problem solving as well as strategic thinking skills
- Ability to benchmark best practices and drive a culture of continuous improvement
- Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, production planning and inventory management methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the supply planning process.
- Proven ability to successfully operate in a fast paced, demanding environment
- Proven ability to develop and build high performing teams and strong cross-functional relationships
