Payroll Specialist

Our Headquarters in Kingsville, ON is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our Human Resources team The essential function of this role is responsible for maintaining the HRIS system and ensuring that payroll is processed weekly, non-union payrolls.

Primary Responsibilities

Process complex weekly timesheets, for hourly staff at all of our Canadian/US Facilities.
Process salaried payroll at all of our Canadian location
Responsible for time sheet audit, verifying, adjusting entries from the electronic Time & Attendance system for the imports
Liaise with all managers and employees to assist with Time & Attendance
Responsible for the maintenance of PTO and vacation time banks
Required to be payroll compliant with all aspects of the ESA Standards and internal policies
Responsible for the calculations and preparation of manual cheques (as needed)
Responsible for processing Terminations/Leaves-ROE's, status changes, increases, retro calculations, employee benefits into the HRIS system
Responsible for the calculation and preparation of Company portion RRSPs, garnishments,
Responsible for the preparation of all reports associated with Payroll remittances
Assist with year-end as required
US Payroll experience considered an asset but training will be provided
Other duties as assigned

**Education/Background Requirements**:
At least 3 years' experience with Payroll processing
PCP certification or working towards preferred
University/College Degree/Diploma a must (Finance, Business streams preferred)
Experience with Canadian payroll processing a must
Some US payroll processing experience preferred

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Extensive knowledge and experience working with weekly payroll processing
Proficient with MS Office products (especially Excel) and multi-faceted HRIS. (UKG/Ultipro preferred)
Ability to foster positive relationships with vendors, clients, and company employees.
Ability to prioritize and deal with competing demands; multi-tasking capacity critical.
Approaches responsibility with a strong sense of ownership and commitment to excellence. Ability to solve complex problems and carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision.
Must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills
Must have experience with highly confidential information
Must be professional with excellent communication skills
High-attention to detail a must
