For the past 80 years, Camp Kannawin has been providing memorable summer camp experiences for children aged 6-14. Owned by the Presbyterian Church in Canada, we offer a diverse range of activities including canoeing, swimming, archery, robotics, field sports, hiking, and much more. Our camps operate in July, with employment opportunities from June through August.

Located on the picturesque shores of Sylvan Lake, just outside of Red Deer and adjacent to Jarvis Bay Provincial Park, Camp Kannawin is set in a beautiful natural environment.

Our camp is situated on Treaty 6 territory, and we respectfully acknowledge the many First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and non-First Nations whose footsteps have marked these lands.

**Job Title**: Summer Maintenance Worker
**Status**: Seasonal Full Time

**Minimum Age Requirement**: 16 years

**Reports to**: Maintenance Lead

**Job Summary**:
The Summer Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, landscaping, and general upkeep of the campsite.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum age: 16
- Proficient with tools and minor repairs
- Driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous maintenance experience is an asset
- Effective communication skills
- Adherence to safety policies
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
- Knowledge of safety procedures and personal protective equipment

**Responsibilities**:

- Clean and maintain washrooms and showers
- Manage waste and recycling
- Maintain tools and equipment
- Lawn mowing and trimming
- Repairs across the site
- Support camp opening and closing
- Test and record smoke and CO2 detectors
- Attend training sessions and meetings
- Participate in camp activities and community engagement
- Assist with site clean-up and additional tasks as assigned

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $16.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
