**About Us**:
The mission of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities is to deliver a comprehensive liberal arts education and to teach our students to become global citizens who think critically and communicate effectively. **Responsibilities**:
The Media Specialist provides effective and efficient multimedia and communications services and support for the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. In collaboration with the Communications Specialist, the role develops and designs content and ensures organization of websites and social media, provides graphic design, production and image editing, provides technical support and training to users for websites and media programs, and liaises with WTS in regard to website and server issues. The Media Specialist provides technical support for events, coordinates logistics for photography sessions and for filming, editing and producing videos for various print materials, websites and social media channels.

**Qualifications**:

- Education:
- 3 year Community College Diploma in media and communications, digital media arts, graphic design or related field
- Courses taken in website design or website graphic design as an area of focus is preferred
- Experience:
- 2 years of experience (such as through an internship) working in a media and communication environment with digital media, graphic design and production and with photographic and digital imaging technology
- Experience configuring, designing and supporting website development and HTML coding
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Intermediate proficiency in web design languages (such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) and with content management systems (such as Cascade, WordPress, etc.)
- Strong graphic design skills and expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or other design software
- Knowledge of digital marketing principles, SEO best practices, and web analytics tools (such as Google Analytics)
- Proven ability to work independently with a high degree of creativity, initiative and judgment while maintaining superior levels of design and timely production output
- A creative mindset with a passion for staying up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in digital communications
- Excellent troubleshooting ability along with hands-on expertise in technical support
- Verbal and written communication skills with an ability to document technical information and provide presentations
- Ability to establish rapport with people from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to maintain a positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
- Ability to process information with a high degree of accuracy, and follow formal business practices with high attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and maintain an organized and effective personal work environment
- Adapts readily and effectively to changing priorities and demands
- Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, faculty members, students and the public
