Counter Sales Representative, Plumbing and Heating

Under the direction of the Inside Sales Manager, the Counter Sales Representative is responsible for taking care of customer demands (i.e. product information, quotation request, order entry, customer and vendor returns) from beginning to end received directly or indirectly from the customer or via the Outside Sales Representative. As a member of the Inside Sales Team, your secondary responsibilities are to back up the Order Desk Team when required.
**Responsibilities**:
- Accurately enter customer requests for quote/orders/customer returns into IMS’s ERP system as requested by customer and management;
- Provide accurate information to customers and troubleshoot when required;
- Provide customers with a positive experience delivering the best possible service with complete solution alternatives that includes involving peers and specialists to meet customer expectations;
- Closely work with members of the Outside Sales Team; Work cooperatively with Inside Sales peers and with other individuals and departments within the Company;
- Participate and support all Inside Sales promotions;
- Participate in learning opportunities;
- Develop relationships with vendors that will create favourable business conditions (greater margin and accurate delivery dates) for Independent Mechanical Supply;
- Develop relationships with customers that positions Independent Mechanical Supply as their first choice for purchasing material;
- Work with other departments (Heating/Project Quotations/Order Desk/Warehouse) to ensure customers’ orders/quotes are timely completed to our best ability and accuracy;
- Coordinate customer returns from delivered orders with the customer and our vendors to minimize the negative impact to the customer and vendor while maximizing profitably for Independent Mechanical Supply;
- Embrace learning and Developing one’s knowledge and skill sets and help other team members to ensure their growth;
- Following up on customer “Pick Up” orders
- Stock Put Away
- Other duties as assigned
**Requirements**:
- Plumbing and Heating industry experience is a must
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Plumbing and Heating Industry wholesaler products
- Customer centric and dedicated to providing excellent customer service
- Proficiency in Microsoft, Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Adobe Acrobat, AS400 and other Order Entry Softwares and Internet Information Gathering/Research
- Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven fast paced and high pressure environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Organizational and planning skills
- Demonstrated analytical, organizational, planning skills, and attention to detail
- Continual desire to learn and grow
- Ability to work in a noisy, hectic, and fast-paced environment
- Ability to work outside ordinary office hours (i.e. Saturday shifts)
